Peel Health Campus
Peel is located in one of the most densely populated regions
in Western Australia, one hour south of Perth, with a current
population of over 75,000. The population growth rate is
one of the highest in Australia, with Mandurah, the region’s
main population centre, being placed as the fastest growing
city in Australia.
Both public and private hospital services are co-located at
the Peal Health Campus operated entirely by Health Solutions
(WA) under a twenty-year contract with the Government of Western
Australia (Department of Health).
Peel Health Campus has 130 beds with plans underway to expand
this number. The campus offers all “secondary” level
services, catering to adults and children. Theatre facilities
at the Campus provides general, genito-urinary, ophthalmic,
ENT and joint surgery. The Day Surgery Unit is also being expanded.
The Peel Health Campus has grown rapidly over the years, and
we have provided support for the technical infrastructure as
required. Initially, as part of a Facilities Management agreement,
Working Systems provided technical services during the early
phase of the transition from public to private including:
- Development and evaluation of several
RFQ’s
for the supply of server, network, and desktop hardware,
operating systems, application systems and desktop software
- Implementation
of equipment purchased under RFQ's
- Provision of application
and technical support.
Recently, Professional
Services provided the complete installation of the new server for Working Systems'
Chiron healthcare information
system and Harmony Financials systems, which both run at
Peel.
Services provided in this project included:
- Evaluating, recommending and ordering server hardware/software
- Installing the operating system, configuring this and the
hardware
- Setting up remote access via a VPN
- Configuring the network,
printers, PC's, terminals, remote access etc
- Installing
the database and application software in the Test and Production
environments
- Copying databases
- Setting up scripts and batch jobs etc
- Testing that all
functions were working
- Creating backups of the live database
on the old server and transferring it to the new server
- Go-Live Support.
